History of Doughnut

Doughnut for British English and donut for American English. Doughnut is very popular snack in many countries. Doughnut has many various flavorings and toppings, like chocolate, sugar, maple glazing. In history of doughnut in the first time, the doughnut is not like this day. There was no hole there. In its origin said that Hanson Gregory, an American at 1847 had claimed to have invented the ring-shaped doughnut like this day. When he was 16, he was dissatisfied with the greasiness of doughnuts twisted into various shapes and with the raw center of reguler doughnut. He claimed that he had punched a hole in the center of dough with the ship’s tin pepper box, and to have later taught the technique to his mother. In Smithsonian Magazine states that his mother, Elizabeth Gregory made a wicked deep-fried dough that cleverly used her son’s spice cargo of nutmeg and cinnamon, along with lemon rind and then put hazelnuts or walnuts, where the dough might not cook through. And called that food “doughnut”

That was the history of doughnut or donut. How awesome is that right? Maybe if not because of him, we cannot eat the doughnut with the hole in the center that we can put the finger in while eating it. Do you like to eat doughnut? If me, yes. Perhaps to much of liking it hehehe. Like the picture beside, all those blue, i like it hehe.
